New Family Guide for Parents and Guardians with Disabilities

The DOE, in collaboration with the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, has released the Family Guide for Parents & Guardians with Disabilities. This guide provides support to parents and guardians with disabilities, as they navigate their child’s school experience.

Social Media Threat

The safety and well-being of our students and staff members remains our highest priority. Toward that end, we are informing you about an incident that occurred today. This morning, due to the vigilance of our students and parents, we were made aware of a threat to multiple Manhattan high schools, including the High School for Health Professions & Human Services, on social media.

Spanish Language Family Engagement Conference for ELLs

The DOE will be hosting the Learning Together: Spanish Language Family Engagement Conference for ELL students and their families on February 21. The conference will be held from 9:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at the Staten Island Children’s Museum (1000 Richmond Terrace Island), and will include parent workshops (in Spanish), resources for families, as well as parent-child activities. You should share this flyer with your school community and encourage families to register by February 20.

RESPECT FOR ALL WEEK

During Respect for All Week, schools will have the opportunity to highlight and build upon ongoing diversity programs and to embark upon new initiatives that promote respect for diversity and focus on preventing bullying, intimidation, and bias-based harassment. PTA Hosting 1st Annual Potluck Fundraiser

On March 8th the PTA is hosting their 1st Potluck fundraiser. Please support the PTA by preparing your favorite dish or volunteering your time. The Potluck will take place in the cafeteria during the Parent-Teacher conference night from 5pm-8pm.
