About our upcoming 2015 summer internship program at Lenox Hill Hospital:
Based on feedback from the students and our mentors, the 2015 program will be structured much the same as last summer. The program will run 4 weeks in July and August, with the interns coming to the hospital 3 days each week. Each intern will be partnered with a mentor with whom they will spend 2 days a week. This time will involve shadowing daily activities, exposure to department operations and observation of different clinical and administrative areas.
On the third day of each week, interns will meet together for four different enrichment sessions which will include direct observation of other clinical or procedural areas of the hospital and will give students the opportunity to engage in informal discussions groups with senior hospital department heads.
The program will be a wonderful opportunity for students interest in a career as a practicing physician or nurse and will introduce them not only to different specialties, but also the many other career opportunities available in a renown teaching hospital.
